What will I do all day?
Mornings are for private and family prayer times, individual and group Bible
study, taking notes on sermons and discussing application of truths.
Afternoons are for community service, chores and completing assignments.
Evenings are for family time: learning life-skills, games, movies, and free
time.
Will I have a job? No, your only job will be to learn to change
masters, from your addiction to your Savior, Jesus Christ. You will learn the
Word of God and how to apply what it teaches you so you can make choices that
lead to freedom from addictive behaviors.
Will I get to go to college? Yes, when you have completed all
required studies and memory work you will be counseled in making career choices
and enrolled in the appropriate vocational or college degree program.
Can I write and call my immediate family? If you are up-to-date on
all assignments, maintain a good attitude and have no rule violations, you will
be allowed two five-minute calls a week to immediate family members after
completion of your second week. You will also be allowed to write letters to
immediate family members. All calls, incoming and outgoing mail are subject to
monitoring by a staff member.
Can I visit my immediate family? All visits and passes are at the
discretion of BTH, scheduled by BTH and allowed only when all study and work
assignments are up-to-date, a good attitude is maintained and there are no rule
violations.
What are the fees? An application fee of $100 must accompany your
application. There is a monthly fee of $100. Scholarships are available in
situations of dire need.
What clothing may I bring to BTH? Upon acceptance you will be
given a list of the modest clothing you are allowed to bring.
It is our desire that you leave BTH with at least 2 months' of expense
money (rent, water, lights, phone, gas, insurance, etc.) in the bank. You
will have the skills to earn a salary, much above the minimum wage, with
benefits and advancement. We usually can completely furnish your apartment
with almost everything you will need to get started. Think about it- to
begin with a sound foundation, no stress of money, deposits, rent, etc AND A
GOOD JOB! All this, and a good church home to support you and help you
grow in your Christian walk.
