* Learn scriptures.
Romans 12:2 is a key verse for BTH. Do not conform any longer to
the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His
good, pleasing and perfect will.
Jeremiah 29:11 is another key verse. ’For I know the plans I have for
you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.’
*Learn to live by Biblical principles.
Members of the BTH family read and study God’s Word daily to discover
Biblical principles for living in an atmosphere of love and support.
Residents also learn from leading Bible teachers Kay Arthur, Beth Moore,
Nancy Leigh DeMoss and other Christian women’s ministers.
*Learn from Christian Professional Counselors.
Residents receive professional counseling at Summit Counseling of First
Baptist Church, Jackson, MS. The BTH household offers family support,
encouragement and guidance as residents address life-controlling issues
that have led to addiction, incarceration or out-of-control living.
*Learn to end the cycle of abuse.
Residents live in a calm environment where they learn to trust and obey
God and to value themselves and others as God’s treasures. Family
dynamics, personal relationships, peer pressure and destructive
attitudes are addressed from a Biblical point of view.
